Quantity and Pricing Producer's Toolkit '14: Scheduling & Budgeting (Sold Out) Attendees who sign up for this class have access to discounted software from Movie Magic. Cost is $99 each for Movie Magic Scheduling and Movie Magic Budgeting. Discount code for each will be provided upon sign-up. Film Independent is offering a special opportunity for our members to learn how to break down, schedule and budget their projects while getting an introductory overview of the Movie Magic software. Taught by line producer Jonathan McCoy, this intensive four-week course will be divided into two parts. On the first two nights, the topics covered will include breaking down a screenplay; arranging information; working the "day our of days"; creating strip boards; customizing forms; making a schedule and creating reports. In the second half of the course, learn the essentials of budgeting a project. Topics will include the use of contractuals; the major elements of each department (personnel, tools and materials); sub-groups and the use of fringe benefits. While it is possible to take this class without Movie Magic, we highly recommend that you bring a laptop loaded with the software to take the class.
