FIND Your Friends

Every Monday in April we want Film Independent members to have the chance to celebrate the benefits of being in the indie film community by spreading the word to friends, colleagues and your social network. Refer your fellow indie film lovers, makers and leaders to become Film Independent members and every Monday the member with the highest number of referrals will receive an incredible opportunity to delve into the events and resources that make our community so unique. Here’s what’s up for grabs:

Week 1 (April 9): The member who has referred the highest amount of new members between April 2 – 8 will receive two tickets to every Film Independent at LACMA event in May – screenings of rare, classic and new films, plus conversations with actors and filmmakers, make up this special series curated by esteemed film critic Elvis Mitchell. The May line-up will be announced on April 19.

Week 2 (April 16): The member who has referred the highest amount of new members between April 9 – 15 will receive two tickets to a gala screening* at the Los Angeles Film Festival this June. Titles TBA but expect the best in upcoming cinema to be presented in downtown LA this June 14 to 24. *Gala screening will be selected by Film Independent.

Week 3 (April 23): The member who has referred the highest amount of new members between April 16 – 22 can let all of their friends know about Film Independent’s benefits from a new Nokia Lumia smartphone. As a sponsor of the 2012 Film Independent Spirit Awards, Nokia helped us bring the best of independent film to new audiences and you can too by receiving a smart phone and an exclusive Spirit Awards gift bag.  

Week 4 (April 30): The member who has referred the highest amount of new members between April 23 – 29 will receive a complimentary pass to the Film Independent Forum this October in Los Angeles. The Forum is an amazing opportunity to connect with filmmaking peers and exchange the unbridled truths, inspirational success stories that come from filmmaking and one-on-one connections with fellow filmmakers in a weekend-long series of panels, discussions and meetings.

By Phone Your friends can call us at 310.432.1200 to sign up and let us know that you referred them

Online Your friends can visit filmindependent.org/membership to sign up and should select “Referred by a Friend” under “Reasons for Joining”. They can list your name in the comments area to add to your tally.
