AUGUST & EBONY

August & Ebony is a 2023 Project Involve short film.

Now in its 30th year, Project Involve is Film Independent's acclaimed diversity and inclusion program under Artist Development, which fosters the careers of talented filmmakers from communities traditionally underrepresented in the film industry. Project Involve is a nine-month mentorship program that hosts up to thirty-five filmmakers annually. Fellows are provided invaluable mentorship, masterclasses and hands-on filmmaking experience. Project Involve shorts have won prestigious festival awards and been distributed by HBO Max, The New Yorker, PBS and other outlets. 

Alumni include Lulu Wang (The Farewell), Linda Yvette Chávez, Marvin Lemus and Aaliyah Williams (Gentefied), Effie T. Brown (The Inspection), Jon M. Chu (In the Heights) and Justin Simien (Dear White People).
